why Blog - Why?

I hope people will follow this blog, but with 95% of blogs failing within the first year this isn't my goal. With such esoteric content, I may as well hang up the 'pen' if that were the goal. This is a compendium of all that has gone into my PhD, and a chance to inspire someone else who thought their education stopped at 16 to challenge them self and self educate to a level they thought impossible. If only one person reads it and feels inspired to try something different then that's fine by me. This is a chance to write informally and flex my thesis muscles without the worry of formal academic 'vernacular' ;-)
